Berlin Chili Festival isn’t just a market – it’s a full entertainment festival. Every year, the costs of putting on a quality event continue to rise, and we’re committed to doing it properly. Behind every festival weekend is real investment: venue rent, professional security, liability insurance, GEMA music licensing, paramedics on site, and top-notch entertainment including live bands and cabaret performers. These aren’t optional extras – they’re what make the festival safe, legal, and genuinely brilliant.
We also believe in paying people fairly. Every staff member, promotions person, and volunteer coordinator is compensated properly – we don’t rely on free labour or unpaid volunteers. Our team works three months full-time to plan and execute these events, from vendor coordination to technical setup to day-of operations. We cover stall hire, equipment, insurance, licensing fees, and taxes. When you buy an €8 ticket, you’re supporting a festival that treats everyone involved with respect and invests in creating something special for the community.
We’re not a big events company – we’re part of the chili community. This festival is for chili heads, run by chili heads. Every decision we make, every penny we spend, is about creating an authentic experience for people who genuinely love hot sauce and chili culture. That’s why we do this, and that’s why we do it properly. We’re passionate about supporting small, independent hot sauce makers – many of them just starting out who can’t afford massive stall hire costs at other events. Berlin Chili Fest is about lifting up those voices and giving them a real platform.
